This hybrid position is based in Madrid with flexible remote and office working.

Mission

The candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing materials and manufacturing processes to ensure quality and efficiency in the production of aerospace components.

Principal functions

  • Develop, characterize, and qualify organic materials and processes and develop associated reference documentation for both engineering and production.
  • Counsel and support to design and stress departments on feasibility studies and optimum material and process selection (with respect to technical and economic boundaries)
  • Participate to the choice of the best materials and manufacturing processes in connection with the rest of departments.
  • Collaborate in industrialization of new technologies before transfer into serial production incl. process FMEA.
  • Support production by technical treatment of non-conformities.
  • Participate and lead Material and Process review boards with customers and suppliers.
  • Draft and maintain technical documentation, including material and process specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Manage material suppliers and coordinate with them to resolve technical issues.
  • Report testing results to material producer; identify when applicable the reasons the selected material did or did not fulfill desired specifications.

Experience

Indispensable

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the aerospace sector.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as welding, heat treatments, machining, and other relevant processes.

Conocimiento específico

  • In-depth knowledge of composite materials, metallic alloys, and other materials used in the aerospace industry.
  • Ability to conduct failure analysis and material testing.
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., ASTM, ISO, AS9100).
