Mission

The Electrical Engineer is a design engineer in the Electronics and Electrical Department. Their mission is to identify the requirements for the electrical system of the aircraft; and consequently design or integrate the electric, distribution and protection systems, coordinating with the rest of the departments and contractors.

Principal functions

  • Be the responsible of the definition, integration, verification and certification of the architecture and specifications of the electric and wiring systems and disciplines of their department from conceptual to certification and in-service phases. Allocate, analyse and interpret the applicable type certification basis, OSD certification basis and environmental protection requirements and customers’ needs requirements to the systems and disciplines of their department.
  • Perform design trades, comprehensive analysis and evaluation for the effectiveness and efficiency of existing and proposed systems, the equipment topologies and the underlying technology bricks focusing on maturation and implementation capabilities. Identifies areas for improvement and works on innovative solutions to optimise the performance of aircraft systems.
  • Follow-up End to end Supplier and during the entire development cycle by preparing SOWs and product or system specifications, select, evaluate and monitor the suppliers.
  • Co-develop Electrical Equipment/Systems ensuring compliance with defined certification basis, elaborating the compliance design documentation and supporting technical publications (i.e. AFM, AMM…) .
  • Prepare technical documents like design definition documents, compliance demonstration documents, programmes, operating instructions, manuals; and filing test data.
  • Confirms by signing the prepared documents that were prepared with best engineering practice, utmost care and to best knowledge of all facts affecting its contents and is completed.
  • Support the laboratory, ground and flight test campaign for Certification and Qualification process, coordinating those required for the validation and verification of the proper systems performances. Prepare the test analysis & correlation reports for compliance demonstration.
  • Support feasibility studies, participating in research and development projects to explore new technologies and techniques in the field of electrical systems. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and continuously improve aircraft safety and efficiency. Support continued airworthiness for systems during the life cycle of the product, including support for events analysis.
  • Estimate time, scope and resource needs of technical activities. Project configuration management and notification to other departments.
  • Support the rest of the departments of the company with the duties related to their disciplines or systems. Support the Production Organisation in the resolution of failures and deviations. Support for the Continued Airworthiness of the products.
