This hybrid position is based in Madrid with flexible remote and office working.

Mission

The safety management engineer reports to the Safety Director and supports her/him to coordinate and facilitate the SMS processes.

You will support the development, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the

DOA/POA/UAS Operator perimeter of the safety management system (SMS).

Principal functions

  • Support the hazard identification and screening, as well as risk assessment and management.
  • Monitor and evaluate the results of the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks in coordination with the rest of the Organisation and follow-up them.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed safety management documentation and keep-recording.
  • Monitor daily and proactively the safety performance and prepare the periodic reports.
  • Prepare and communicate the safety promotion.
  • Be involved in the preparation of the SMS training and support People & Culture Department to give it.
  • Be involved in the development and updating of the emergency response plan and procedures, practicing emergency responses.
  • Perform the SORA for the operations that require it and manage the Operational Authorization to the competent authority.
  • Prepare the Flight Test Safety risk assessment and participate in the flight test safety review meeting of all flight test operations in cooperation with the Design Office and Flight Test Organisation.

Experience

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree preferably in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in Safety management or performing SORA.
  • Technical skills
  • Trainer capability
  • Language skills: English – fluent, Spanish is a plus.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities;

  • ICAO Annex 19 and 13
  • EU 748/2012 and subsequent amendments
  • EU 2019/947 and subsequent amendments

Desirable knowledge:

  • Safety Management principles and tools
  • System Safety – ED-79B, ED-135
